Manager, Infrastructure & Operations

Under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology, the Manager, Infrastructure & Operations is the principal architect for the delivery of shared information resources that serve the entire ºÚÈË̽»¨ community.  This position is responsible for managing the overall design, operation, security, and support of the IT infrastructure.  The Manager, Infrastructure & Operations manages and coordinates the activities of the Infrastructure & Operations team.  Partnering with students, faculty, and staff, this position ensures a successful IT experience while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and mentors the Infrastructure & Operations Team.
  • Ensure service level agreements are maintained.
  • Design, implement, manage, troubleshoot, and maintain ºÚÈË̽»¨â€™s servers and network infrastructure, cloud hosted (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS) systems, and virtualization platforms.
  • Develop and maintain server and network standards, policies, documentation, and procedures.
  • Develop a security framework to ensure information security and privacy.
  • Provide technical support in person and by telephone, video conference, email, or through a remote support session, while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Create, update, prioritize, and track customer problems using a ticket system.
  • Follow and maintain Information Technology policies and procedures.
  • Design, implement, and monitor security measures for the protection of the server and network infrastructure.
  • Manage, troubleshoot, and maintain Microsoft 365 and Active Directory, backup system, VOIP system, and physical security (access control, surveillance) systems.
  • Design, review, and execute system and configuration backup and disaster recovery plans and procedures.
  • Ensure business continuity by maintaining configuration files, design documents, and recovery procedures for all ºÚÈË̽»¨â€™s network and server systems.
  • Research current and emerging technologies.
  • Monitor and reports the health and stability of all server and network operations.
  • Serve as primary person-on-call for all network and server related issues.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and consultants and utilizes their expertise to accomplish strategic information technology objectives.
  • Work with other Information Technology team members to acquire cross functional knowledge transfer and provide back-up capabilities.
  • Monitor the health and stability of all Information Technology services and issues timely alerts to affected customers if issues arise.
  • Complete ongoing training to stay alongside product, service, and policy changes.
  • Collaborate with the entire Information Technology team to ensure the delivery of services.
  • Assist with special projects beyond the normal scope of daily duties.
  • Maintain hardware and software inventories.
  • Maintain a positive, helpful, and constructive attitude and work relationship with students, faculty, staff, and the ºÚÈË̽»¨ community at large.
  • In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, the individual has the responsibility to carry out unique tasks as requested by their superiors. 

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in a technology support role.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience in a supervisory role.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Windows Server.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Azure.
  • Expertise in VMware.
  • Expertise in Networking (wired and wireless).
  • Experience in Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
  • Experience in next-generation firewalls.
  • Experience in Hyperconverged systems.
  • Experience in cyber security.

Work Environment:

  • The Manager, Infrastructure & Operations may be required to work in various conditions, including indoor and outdoor settings, and may be exposed to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing. 

Salary: $145,000/year
